Romanian Government Scholarship

Study through the Romanian Government Scholarship as managed by ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in collaboration with ministry of Education and Research in Abbreviation (MER).  It is mostly referred to as MFA Scholarship. MFA scholarship aims to assist foreign students that want to undertake their studies in Romanian states. It is basically for individuals from non-European Union state to study in any accredited institution in the country.

There are exceptions to individuals who can apply even though not a member of EU. It includes the following categories of persons :

• First, people who has any trace of Romanian history associated with their existence.
• Secondly, persons who enjoy entitlement of protection from the Romanian Government either by acquisition or request.
• Thirdly, individual who currently enjoying scholarship from Romanian government on the same level of study.
• Also, member of diplomatic community attached to any part of Romanian, staff of any international organization in Romanian resident, are exceptions to eligible applicants.

However, this scholarship is applicable to the following level of studies in the Country:

• Undergraduate programs
• Master’s degree programs
• Phd programs

All successful applicants of MFA scholarship for undergraduate programs and master’s program shall be taken in Romanian Language. Therefore such individual will have to enroll and learn Romanian language within the period of the study before proper studies begins.

Exceptions to enrolling for Romanian language

Interested applicants who wish to undertake this scholarship, but have previously done any of the following are exempted from taken Romanian languages before the core course. It include the following category of persons:

• Firstly, persons whom it was a requirement to pass Romanian test before enrollment into the any  University in Romanian country.
• Secondly, applicants whose record shows at least four consecutive years of study in Romanian institution.
• Thirdly, individuals who enrolled and passed the Romanian test conducted according the standard regulation of the country.

REQUISITE DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION

• The Application form  properly filled as required by the awarding institution will be submitted either through electronic means or at any office of the ministry of foreign 
• Copies of necessary degree certificate previously obtained and its transcript in any of the following languages: English, French or Romanian.
• Also photocopies of your birth certificate or letter of authorization from a recognized population commission in your country.
• Applicant’s curriculum vitae
• Equally, photocopies of the first three pages of the aspirant international passport details.
