As the whole world is affected by the novel pandemic corona
virus, economic,social and educational activities has been put on hold for
months with hope that things will normalize soon. As it stands Nigeria as
country is not left out considering the lockdown imposed by the federal
Government in some states and the once imposed by the state governors to help
curb the spread of the corona virus. The
Honourable minister for state Education has disclosed that There is no date yet
for schools in the nation to continue in spite of the declaration by President
Muhammadu Buhari, on a progressive lockdown unwinding on the Federal Capital
Territory, Abuja, Lagos and Ogun States, the Federal Government has said.
Additionally it was
equally disclosed that the West African Examinations Council which ought has
started considering its previous time table has not dropped its outside tests
as students will at present need to proceed to take those tests when the
administration makes certain to have taken great consideration of the students.
This according to the information will be when the novel pandemic disease has
reasonably dropped as regards its spread or when there is an approved vaccine.
The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, said
this while answering to an inquiry during the every day instructions by the
Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 pandemic. The clergyman clarified that the
Federal Ministry of Education couldn't predict or give any date when schools
would continue in the nation considering the state of things at the moment. Nwajiuba noticed that the national government was not
prepared to put kids in danger by opening schools.
The priest stated: "The President really tended to the
issue of the opening of the economy bit by bit. Until that is done, we can't
predict or promptly disclose to you when all the schools will be revived. It
won't be appropriate for us to just give you a date. It must be pair with these
initial terms. We would prefer not to put our youngsters in danger. None of
these schools can work all alone without the general public.

class, those tests will happen when we are fulfilled that the kids have
realized what is sufficient for them to move. For the individuals who are in
the leave classes of junior fundamental and senior auxiliary schools, we are

"This will go on until we are certain that they are
prepared for the outer assessments. The West African Examinations Council has
not dropped their outer tests. It was deferred inconclusively. This
inconclusive nature is so we can get a distinct date. Students involved with
the above examinations will in any case need to proceed to take those tests
when we are certain that we have taken great consideration of the
students."
